MEET OUR MUMMAS & WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT US!

MEET OUR MUMMAS & WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT US!

As we prepare to honour the female heroes in our lives on May 10, we thought we'd virtually introduce you to the women who raised us.

We put some questions to Anne (Mizpah's Mum) and Gill (Lydia's Mum) and did a deep dive into the photo archives to bring you some of our very special memories.

To all the Mums out there spending Mother's Day without their kids, remember that you are not just something to them, but everything.

To the new mums, we hope you relish in your creations and reflect on your journey so far.

For those without their mums, know that we are thinking of you and that she would be incredibly proud of the person you have become.

ANNE, A NURSE, MUM OF 3, GRANDMOTHER OF 6 AND CREATIVE GENIUS REFLECTS ON MOTHERHOOD & HER YOUNGEST CHILD, MIZPAH.

What’s the best thing about being a mum?
To have my three beautiful children and their children to love.

What’s one of your favourite memories of Mizpah?
My fondest memory of Mizpah was when I was going through a rough spot and she hugged me and said: “Mum it is all going to be ok”. She was 12 and she was right.

What’s the one thing you’d like for Mother’s Day?
For Covid-19 to be gone and be able to hug my children and grandchildren.

What’s your favourite Trove treasure at the moment?
If I can only choose one item, it would have to be the SOLEIL shell earrings, but love so many.

NOW IT'S MIZPAH'S TURN...
AS WELL AS BEING THE CO-FOUNDER OF TROVE, MIP WAS A NURSE IN HER PRE-TROVE LIFE AND IS NOW A MUMMA OF 2 HERSELF.

What is the best thing about being a Mum?
Gosh..I could write a page about all of the things I love about being a Mum but I think my most favourite thing of all is watching my babies grow up into clever little people who are the most perfect mix of my husband and I. Sometimes I can’t even believe we created such amazing little beings. I love their snuggles, their little belly laughs and I especially love how kind they are to each other (mostly!).

What is the best thing about your Mum?
She makes me feel like home is anywhere she is (even now, when I’m 30!)

What is your fondest memory of Anne?
I have lots, but a very special time was when we moved to France, I was 12. I did homeschool from Australia, used to finish my day in a few hours which left the rest of the day free for Mum and I to explore our beautiful village together. I still remember a little bead shop that we found in a tiny cobblestone street…we would come home and do crafts together for hours.

If you could have anything for Mother’s Day, what would it be?
Of course I would love to be with my Mumma. But I feel like I have enough. I will be over the moon with cuddles in bed from my babies and a hot cup of tea!

What is your favourite Trove treasure at the moment?
Oh goodness…..do I really have to choose one? Ok! I love our new ALL TORT UP chain.

OVER TO GILL NOW AKA 'GILLIE BABE'
A FORMER MODEL AND NOW A TALENTED WORKING ARTIST, MUM OF 2, GILL, SHARES SOME INSIGHT ON HER ELDEST, LYDIA.

The best thing about being a mum?
Apart from the unconditional love, is knowing that you have given your offspring roots and wings.

What's your fondest memory of Lydia?
On day one, thinking that she had been here before; feeling ecstatic and an immediate primal bond.

If you could choose anything in the world, what would you like for Mother’s Day?
All I will ever want for Mother’s Day is to be with my thoughtful, beautiful children.

What's the best thing about Trove?
The solid friendship that has been formed for the two co-founders who just happen to be third cousins.

Favourite Trove treasures at the moment?
It’s a tie between the VALERIE duo and the PALMA earrings.

AND FINALLY, LYDIA.
HERE'S WHAT SHE HAS TO SAY ABOUT HER MUM.

What is the best thing about your Mum?
She’s MINE! She taught me kindness and to have a sense of humour, she makes me feel loved and appreciated and reminds me that things ‘could always be worse’.

What is your fondest memory of your Mum?
Mum used to drive me all over New South Wales to compete in ballet eisteddfods, so we spent endless ours in the car, on dusty country roads, staying in dodgy motels in strange small towns and not once did she ever complain. I do remember going through my early teenage years spending those long trips with my head buried in my Nokia 2210, but I want Mum to know I will forever treasure all that time we had together.

If you could give her anything for Mother’s Day, what would it be?
A visit! I’m based in Sydney and her and Dad are still back in Dubbo which makes it tricky to get back as often as I’d like. I know Mum appreciates her kids just being with her more than any fancy, expensive present.
What is your favourite Trove treasure at the moment?
BIG fan of our new LINE STUDS – I’m wearing the silver and gold (love a mixed metal).
